When the UK went into lockdown in March, we were only allowed to go out for exercise once a day, so every walk I went on was savoured, and often saved up until early evening. April turned out to be one of most amazing months of weather, with blue skies and sunshine, and fantastic sunsets. We're so lucky to be living in Ripon in North Yorkshire, surrounded by wonderful countryside, rivers and woodland paths. "When spring took no notice" charts my walks with my son over the lockdown weeks of March to May, when nature broke all the rules, never to be louder or more colourful.
